Experimental Study on the Hydrodynamic Characteristics of a Fixed Comb-Type Floating Breakwater

A comb-type floating breakwater is a new wave dissipation structure with particular force and performance advantages due to the two wave-reflecting surfaces. In this article, physical model experiments are used study hydrodynamic characteristics of fixed comb structural optimization-based measures under combined action regular waves, irregular currents. The effects factors such as relative width, height, water flow velocity, waves on transmission coefficient analyzed. addition, waveform analyzed based time frequency domains. results show that (1) lower than rectangular box for long-period while larger short-period waves. (2) Under current superimposition bidirectional currents can increase coefficient, increases increasing speed. anti-directional decrease coefficient. (3) Moreover, same parameters, (4) Finally, extending bottom plate adding baffles effectively enhance effect also stabilizing transmitted waveform.
